Davis Alt Protein is collaborating with Almond producer Blue Diamond to bring you a new iron-chef style cooking competition. Teams of four will have the opportunity to utilize ingredients like their almond flour and almond butter to create a plant based, high-protein dish. Compete with other teams on the clock for presentation and flavor. This is a great way to collaborate with others in the field and learn new vegan culinary skills!Â
$25 for additional ingredients will be provided, courtesy of Blue Diamond. Contestants would either be supplied 1 jar of almond butter or 1 pound of almond flour for their main ingredient of choice. They do not need to use the entirety of the almond product. However, the final recipe should contain at least 1 oz of the almond product and 10 grams of protein per serving, which would make it hit the USDA standard of an excellent source of protein.
Last but not least, Blue Diamond gift baskets worth $100 will be awarded to each member of the winning team!
